With a new year comes new resolutions – a department I lack proficiency in given that the #healthITchicks website has been a good year in the making. I suppose you could say that my 2016 resolution has finally been fulfilled, though it’s a bit overdue. That being said, its development has definitely been a labor of love. What started out as the proverbial idea on a cocktail napkin has evolved – and will continue to – into an online resource that brings together the disparate building blocks of our social networking community.
Click around a bit and you’ll find all your favorite #healthITchicks resources – Spotlight Interviews, tweetchat recaps, and event listings – all in one place! No more hopping between Twitter, LinkedIn, and Storify to stay on top of what’s going on with women working in healthcare IT.
The website would still be a pipe dream if it weren’t for the detail-oriented direction and Web development skills of my good friend and colleague Jess Clifton (@jslentzclifton). Thank you, Jess! I also owe a good deal of thanks to you, my fellow #healthITchicks, for your support and enthusiasm. I have been told more than once that our group is one to pay attention to because of the energy we bring to any room we’re in. It can’t be denied!
As I mention on the “About” page, our community strives to help its members invest in the personal and professional lives of each other, and of those in need. Thus, our motto: “Connecting Women. Doing Good. Giving Back.” As a woman of faith, I sincerely believe I was put on this Earth to love God, love others, and serve the world. I can think of no better group of people that I’d like to come alongside and serve. I hope you’ll join me on the journey! There are several ways you can become a part of the community:
- Follow the #healthITchicks hashtag.
- Sign up for email updates.
- Join the LinkedIn group.
- Join our next tweetchat.
- Find us out and about.
Thanks for reading. Here’s to a great 2017!
